Why Sell To Straight Deal?
Selling to Straight Deal is simple, transparent, and hassle-free. Here’s why our customers love working with us:

Fair, Market-Based Offers: Our quotes are based on current retail and wholesale market values, ensuring you get an accurate and competitive price.

No Negotiations: The price you’re quoted online is the price you’ll receive, as long as the vehicle is properly disclosed and passes the final inspection—no unexpected deductions or surprises.

Convenience: We offer flexible pick-up and drop-off options, making the process easy and tailored to your needs.

Fast Payment: Complete your sale in as little as 48 hours. In some cases, same-day payment is available through secure and instant payment methods.

Guaranteed Payment: Whether the payment goes to you or your lienholder, you can trust that it's fast, secure, and guaranteed.
How Do I Get Paid
We make payments via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to ensure a secure and efficient process. Once your vehicle is dropped off or picked up, we initiate payment the same day and provide confirmation that the funds have left our account. Depending on your financial institution, the funds may take up to three business days to reflect in your account, though most customers receive their payment by the next business day.

You will also receive:

A binding Bill of Sale signed by both you and Straight Deal.

Confirmation of any lien amount to be paid off (if applicable).

A breakdown of the remaining balance to be deposited into your bank account.
How Does My Auto Loan Get Paid Off?
If you have a loan on the car that you're selling, Straight Deal will pay off the loan and deduct it from the value of our offer. Loans can take anywhere between 10-30 business days to be processed, depending on the lender.
What Should I Expect At My Car-Selling Appointment?
The purpose of your car-selling appointment is just that: to sell your car. We don’t waste time with negotiations or lengthy inspections, and the process only takes about 30 minutes. A member of our Delivery Team will walk around your vehicle to verify details from the appraisal, and then you’ll sign a Bill of Sale prepared by Straight Deal.
I'm Unsure Whether I Adequately Disclosed Cosmetic Imperfections.
That’s okay! Simply complete the appraisal to the best of your knowledge and schedule your appointment. One of our advisors will be in contact with you to help you properly disclose cosmetic imperfections and can even have pictures reviewed to help with disclosure and ensure you the most accurate pricing at final inspection. Pictures can be uploaded on your dashboard, or sent to us at support@straightdeal.com
What Documentation Is Required To Sell My Car To Straight Deal?
1) Driver’s licence

2) Proof of ownership or title for the vehicle

3) Void cheque or direct deposit form (to facilitate payment)

4) Loan payout statement (if your vehicle is financed)
What Is A Loan Payout Statement And How Do I Get One?
A loan payout statement shows the current balance of your auto loan. In most cases, Straight Deal can obtain your loan payment statement if your auto loan is with BMO, National Bank,  Scotiabank, TD, CIBC, or Royal Bank. If your loan is with another lender, you will need to contact their customer service department and request a loan payout statement to be sent to you via email. In some instances, you may be able to access the buyout from your banking portal as well.
I Am Still Driving My Car. Does Straight Deal Allow A Variation In Mileage?
Yes, we allow up to a 1,000-km variance in mileage without impacting your offer. If the variance exceeds 1,000 km, simply inform your advisor. They’ll update the mileage or vehicle details for you to ensure everything stays accurate.
I Sold My Car To Straight Deal But An Auto Loan Payment Was Still Withdrawn From My Bank Account.
If a loan payment was withdrawn from your bank account after you already sold your car to us, don’t worry: that is simply because it can take 3-10 business days for the lender to process our payment. The amount will be refunded back to you by your lender.
Do The Owner(s) Of The Car Need To Be Present At The Time Of Sale?
Yes, the owner (and co-owners) need to be present at the time of sale. Exceptions are made for cars being sold by an estate or under power of attorney. Please reach out to support@straightdeal.com for additional information.
I Completed An Appraisal And Received A Message Indicating That My Car Does Not Meet The Criteria To Be Purchased.
Unfortunately, there are some cars that Straight Deal does not purchase. Reasons for not purchasing certain cars include model year, manufacturer, model, mileage, and vehicle condition.
Is Straight Deal Required To Purchase My Car After Providing An Offer?
Straight Deal offers are generally firm, subject to our terms of service. As long as the condition of your vehicle aligns with the details you provided, we will proceed with the acquisition at the offered price.

*Acquisition pricing is subject to final inspection and a Carfax verification.
When Will I Receive An Appraisal For My Car?
After you enter a few details about your car, you should get a firm offer in 24-48 hours.
What Is The Process To Sell My Car?
Selling your car is easy. Simply head to our appraisal page and enter a few details about your car to get a firm offer. Then, you can either schedule a pick-up time and location, or drop off your vehicle to our facilities and one of our team members will walk you through the transaction.
Will You Buy My Car If I Have A Loan On It?
Yes, we can purchase your vehicle even if there is an outstanding loan. If the remaining loan balance is less than our offer, we will pay the difference to you and settle the lien with your financial institution. If the loan balance exceeds our offer, you will need to provide a certified cheque or bank draft for the difference, and we will handle the loan payoff on your behalf. Please note that loan discharges have additional fees, and one of our customer advisors will be able to provide details on the costs and help you every step of the way.
Do I get Extra Money For Specific Car Features?
After inputting your car details and selecting your trim, you will be presented with a list of features that you can check off if your car has them. We will evaluate all of this information when providing you with an offer.

*Extended warranties and Rust warranties do not add any additional value to acquisition pricing.
Do I Have To Pay Tax When Selling My Car?
You do not have to pay taxes when selling your vehicle, with the exception of leased vehicles. It is the buyer’s responsibility (Straight Deal) to pay taxes to the government, specifically when we change the registration to our name. The offer we provide online is firm, meaning it is exactly how much will be transferred to your bank account minus any outstanding lien on the car (in most cases—see above).
Can I sell A Car On Behalf Of Someone Else?
You can only sell a car that is registered in your name or you would need to provide us with a Power of Attorney document. Contact us at support@straightdeal.com to get started.
Can I Sell A Car Owned By A Company?
Yes. If you wish to sell a car owned by a company, we simply require an article of incorporation indicating that you own the company or have signing authority.
